Senior Project Officer (APS6 Equivalent)
Contract Length: 12‑month contract (with up to 2 possible x 12‑month extensions)
Location: Canberra, ACT
Security Clearance: Positive Vetting (PV) required

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Officers (APS6 equivalent) to support the delivery and operations of projects within a Project / Program / Portfolio Office environment.
This role will suit a motivated professional with strong project support, coordination, and governance experience, who enjoys working with stakeholders and contributing to high‑priority initiatives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide operational and administrative support to project and program management activities
  • Lead the development and maintenance of project plans, processes, and documentation in line with agreed frameworks and procedures
  • Research, draft, and prepare briefs, correspondence, and reports
  • Support the preparation and submission of finance‑related documentation and papers for committee consideration
  • Coordinate and engage with internal and external stakeholders to support project requirements and outcomes
  • Assist in ensuring projects are delivered in line with scope, schedule, quality, and risk expectations
Technical Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or delivering projects within a structured project environment
  • Certification in a recognised project methodology (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent) is highly desirable
  • Strong written communication skills, with experience preparing high‑quality briefs and reports
  • Ability to manage priorities, risks, and stakeholder expectations within a dynamic environment
Please note if you are successful to the next stage you will be required to provide a Selection Crieteria to the client. 

Security & Suitability
  • Candidates must hold an active Positive Vetting (PV) clearance, or be eligible and willing to maintain one
  • Must be an Australian Citizen
  • Successful candidates may be required to complete additional organisational suitability assessments prior to commencement
