In this role, you’ll provide high‑level environmental guidance across design, approvals, and delivery phases, ensuring statutory compliance and sustainable project outcomes. This long‑term contract offers the rare opportunity to shape a major infrastructure project from an environmental perspective.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑level advice on State and Commonwealth environmental legislation, including the EPBC Act 1999.
- Support the delivery of environmental approvals, referrals, and offsets for major infrastructure works.
- Review project designs, environmental surveys, spatial data, PERs, and develop Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
- Identify environmental risks and negotiate practical design or scope modifications with project teams.
- Coordinate environmental offset acquisition and project land requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the project in working groups, steering committees, and stakeholder forums.
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in environmental approvals, compliance, or assessments on major infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to provide clear, high‑level written and verbal advice to senior stakeholders.
- Experience working across multidisciplinary project teams in government or consulting environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including liaison with agencies, councils, and industry.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
