Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in a major redevelopment project at a bulk terminal facility. This is a high-impact opportunity to represent the client across critical electrical, instrumentation, and control system design activities on a large-scale industrial project.
About the Role
In this position, you will act as the client’s representative throughout the design phase, ensuring high-quality outcomes across electrical, instrumentation, and control disciplines. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external designers to monitor progress, resolve technical challenges, and maintain alignment with project requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and monitoring design development by external consultants
- Identifying and resolving technical and design issues
- Liaising with project stakeholders and internal teams
- Reviewing technical documentation and providing expert feedback
- Responding to technical queries and ensuring compliance with standards
- Supporting the Major Projects team in coordinating and tracking design deliverables
About You
You are a highly capable electrical engineering professional with strong experience in industrial or mining project environments. You bring both technical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 8 years’ experience delivering mining and/or industrial projects
- Strong background in design, construction, and maintenance of HV/LV electrical assets
- Proven ability to assess electrical systems and provide practical recommendations
- Experience preparing technical specifications and reports
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Solid understanding of statutory requirements and national standards
- Owner’s Engineer experience
- Chartered Engineer status (or eligibility)
- Knowledge of port operations and electrical infrastructure
- Experience working in hazardous areas
- Familiarity with Western Power Technical Rules and embedded networks
- Protection grading and substation earthing systems expertise
- Experience with PLC (Rockwell), SCADA, and communications systems
- Understanding of renewable energy systems
- Exposure to CCTV and access/security systems
