Senior Communications Advisor (AO6)
Location: Nerang | Hybrid
Rate: $79.18 – $84.56 per hour + super
Contract: 1 June – 31 December (possible extension)

About the Role
An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Communications Advisor to support a major infrastructure program within the South Coast Region. This role is responsible for delivering high-level external engagement and communications services, including community engagement, media relations, public affairs, and stakeholder management. You will also lead a small Communications and Engagement team, providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders while ensuring strong, consistent communication with the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver community engagement and stakeholder management strategies across the region
  • Lead and mentor a small team to produce clear, consistent communications materials
  • Provide strategic media, engagement, and communications advice to senior leaders
  • Identify and manage communication risks and issues
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure proactive and effective messaging
  • Build and maintain relationships with community, industry, and government stakeholders
  • Support high-quality correspondence and public-facing communications

About You
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior communications or engagement role
  • Strong leadership and team management capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in government or infrastructure environments highly regarded
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide strategic advice
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
