Chandler Macleod is recruiting a Senior Accountant on behalf of a leading organisation to support business‑as‑usual finance operations during a major systems transition.
This is a hands‑on role suited to a Senior Accountant who enjoys owning BAU end to end and keeping finance running smoothly while supporting a broader finance team.
The Role You will take ownership of day to day finance operations, ensuring continuity, accuracy, and compliance while the Finance Manager focuses on ERP implementation activities.
This is not a transformation or finance leadership role. The focus is execution, stability, and pragmatic problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end to end BAU finance operations including AP, AR, payroll oversight, and month end
- Supervise and support bookkeepers and transactional staff
- Ensure statutory compliance, reconciliations, and reporting deadlines are met
- Maintain strong documentation and controls during system disruption
- Work collaboratively with a long‑tenured Finance Manager using influence, not authority
- CA or CPA Qualified
- Senior Accountant or equivalent experience
- Proven hands‑on ownership of BAU finance operations
- Comfortable working in imperfect or system‑change environments
- Calm, pragmatic, and execution focused
- Able to support and influence without driving change agendas
- Permanent full time role
- Sydney CBD base with a couple of days work from home
