Project Officer – Reform & Implementation
Hourly Rate:$61–$69 per hour
Contract: ASAP start | Contract through July 2026
Location:  East Melbourne (hybrid working available)
Experience: State Government experience preferred

We are seeking an experienced Project Officer to support the delivery of a complex reform program within a regulatory environment.
This role plays a key part in delivering project planning, implementation and governance activities aligned to a major reform implementation plan, supporting readiness for the commencement of a new regulatory duties model in 2027.
You will work across multiple workstreams, helping track and deliver project milestones, respond to emerging issues, and support strong governance and stakeholder engagement in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of a large reform implementation plan
  • Develop and maintain high‑quality project documentation including reports, briefings, correspondence and presentations
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions to align project workstreams and deliverables
  • Monitor progress against milestones, identify risks and issues, and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide project governance and administrative support to reform initiatives
Key Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience providing project support in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to prepare clear, concise briefings and reports
  • High attention to detail, including proofreading and document quality assurance
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems and manage competing priorities
  • Experience monitoring project progress, scheduling tasks and supporting delivery outcomes
  • State Government experience highly regarded
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in policy, public administration, project management or a related discipline (desirable)
