About the Role
An exciting contract opportunity is available for an experienced Project Manager to support a large, complex land command and control capability program within a Federal Government environment.
You will work as part of an integrated delivery team responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of communications and networking capabilities that support land operations. This role contributes to modernising tactical command, control and communications systems, ensuring they remain interoperable, resilient and aligned to joint and coalition requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Plan, manage and coordinate assigned work packages aligned to approved priorities and delivery roadmaps
  • Monitor and control scope, schedule, cost, risks and dependencies
  • Prepare and maintain project artefacts to support governance and assurance activities
  • Support definition and refinement of communications and networking capability requirements
  • Assist with integration of radios and tactical network capabilities within broader land and joint architectures
  • Contribute to technical assurance, configuration alignment and transition planning
  • Act as a coordination point for radios and tactical networking activities with military personnel, APS staff, industry partners and delivery teams
  • Identify and manage technical, schedule and integration risks and ensure compliance with relevant policies, frameworks and legislative obligations
 
Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, project support or coordination
  • Demonstrated experience working in complex, fast‑paced environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including briefing and reporting
  • Experience with project governance, documentation and reporting
  • Proven ability to engage with senior government, Defence or industry stakeholders
  • NV1 security clearance
  • Working knowledge of the One Defence Capability System (ODCS)
 
Desirable
  • Formal qualifications in Project Management or a related discipline
  • Experience working within Defence or a comparable government environment
  • Knowledge of land domain communications or networking systems
  • Experience with configuration management or document control
  • Military experience or exposure to headquarters, exercises or operational environments
