The role will suit a hands‑on Project Manager who enjoys working client‑side and being closely involved in design and delivery, rather than delegating day‑to‑day project activity.
About the Role
The Project Manager will be responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of a single major project, a new development valued at approximately $120M. You will work closely with consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders across design, approvals and construction, ensuring the project is delivered in line with scope, quality, program and governance requirements.
This role requires a strong focus on design management, early identification of risks, and proactive problem‑solving. Extensive guidelines and internal support structures are in place.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage the project across all phases, from design development through to delivery
- Provide client‑side oversight of consultants and contractors
- Review and challenge design documentation to ensure constructability, compliance and fit‑for‑purpose outcomes
- Identify risks early, particularly relating to design, site conditions and delivery strategy
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement across internal teams and external delivery partners
- Attend site regularly and contribute to inspection, issue resolution and progress monitoring
- Maintain project documentation, reporting, governance and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated experience delivering new‑build projects
- At least 7 years experience in Client-Side Project Management
- Strong exposure to design management and early lifecycle phases
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced delivery environment
- Hands‑on and delivery‑focused approach
- GC21 experience would be desirable but not essential
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large high‑profile, community‑focused project within a structured and supportive government delivery environment.
