About the Role An opportunity exists for an experienced Production & Treatment Scheduler to join a large, operationally critical environment supporting essential services. This contract role sits within an integrated planning and demand management function and plays a key role in ensuring efficient workforce scheduling, resource utilisation, and operational performance.
Reporting to a senior planning manager, the Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating work activities for operational teams, ensuring service delivery targets, safety obligations, and compliance requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Team Contribution
- Actively contribute to a safety‑focused work environment and promote safe work practices
- Participate in field interactions to support positive safety behaviours
- Work collaboratively across teams to influence continuous safety improvement
- Develop and manage short‑ to medium‑term work schedules for operational teams
- Coordinate planned and reactive work to optimise workforce and asset utilisation
- Ensure work orders are aligned to quality, compliance, and operational priorities
- Source job resources including information, people, stock, and contractors as required
- Support planning and delivery of high‑impact operational activities
- Build strong working relationships with coordinators, managers, and cross‑functional teams
- Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders to support effective service delivery
- Partner with operational teams to manage backlog and follow‑up activities
- Support reporting related to production and maintenance activities
- Maintain accurate records and data within works management systems
- Identify and contribute to process improvement and efficiency initiatives
- Support innovation in planning tools, systems, and work practices
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in business administration or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in operations planning and workforce scheduling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of stakeholder engagement capability
- Strong IT literacy and ability to work with planning, dispatch, and data systems
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high service and quality standards
- Experience working within utilities, infrastructure, or asset‑intensive environments
- Knowledge of operational networks and maintenance planning
- Employment Type: Contractor (Contingent Labour Panel)
- Hours: Full‑time
- Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)
- Hourly Rate:$56.34 per hour (inclusive of casual loading)
- Flexibility to work extended or after‑hours when required
- Willingness to undertake medical clearances and relevant background checks
- Some travel may be required
