People & Development Business Partner (3-Month Contract)
We are seeking experienced and proactive People & Development Business Partners to join our team on a 3-month contract, with the potential for extension. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced organisation by delivering high-quality generalist HR support across a broad range of people and workforce initiatives.
About the Role Reporting to the Team Leader – People & Workforce, you will work closely with managers and staff to provide professional HR advice and support. This role is focused on enabling operational success, supporting workplace relations, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with leaders to provide generalist HR advice across employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning
- Interpret and apply policies, procedures, awards, and relevant legislation
- Support and lead employee relations matters, including investigations and conflict resolution
- Provide guidance on recruitment, onboarding, probation, performance, and employee lifecycle matters
- Assist with workforce planning, analysis, and HR projects
- Monitor HR systems and ensure timely responses to employee queries
- Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and practices
- Support enterprise agreement processes and consultation activities
- Coordinate induction programs and facilitate HR-related training/workshops
- Provide practical solutions to managers on people-related matters
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role, including employee and industrial relations
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, awards, and HR best practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Sound understanding of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, and industrial frameworks
- Experience working in a complex, fast-paced organisation (desirable)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR information systems (HRIS)
- 3-month contract with the potential for extension
