A local government organisation in regional Victoria is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to support payroll operations on a part‑time (0.6 FTE) basis for a 6‑month casual assignment. This role is based in Euroa, with a hybrid work‑from‑home arrangement available once established.
About the Role Deliver accurate, timely, and compliant end‑to‑end payroll services for a workforce of 150+ employees. Maintain payroll systems, meet statutory and industrial requirements, and provide responsive payroll support to employees and stakeholders.
Work 8‑hour days, aligned to 0.6 FTE, with flexibility across the working week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process end‑to‑end payroll for a workforce of 150+ employees with accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain payroll systems, reconciliations, records, and reports
  • Apply industrial awards, enterprise agreements, and legislative obligations
  • Respond to payroll enquiries and provide clear, professional advice to employees
  • Complete payroll‑related compliance and year‑end activities
  • Support People & Culture functions with payroll‑related administration
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy, risk, and workplace safety requirements
About You
Demonstrate strong payroll capability and the confidence to operate autonomously in a fast‑paced environment. Apply high attention to detail while meeting firm payroll deadlines. Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders at all levels.

Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated payroll experience in a complex or high‑volume environment
  • Proven experience processing payroll for 150+ employees
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, industrial awards, and enterprise agreements
  • Experience with computerised payroll systems and databases
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong organisational, time management, and problem‑solving skills
  • High level of discretion and commitment to confidentiality
