About the role:
As an Operator, you will be regularly outdoors repairing and maintaining water and wastewater assets, playing a big part in maintaining some of the 56,800km of pipelines that stretch across WA. Your main task is keeping the water supply running. That’s finding and fixing faults on pipes and joints, upgrades and understanding the end-to-end water cycle and how water networks help your local community. A usual day could include digging trenches, inspecting pipelines, and repairing broken water services.
What the role will involve:
- Carry out operation and maintenance tasks requiring use of specialist tools, plant, and equipment
- Operate, maintain, and repair water, wastewater, and drainage assets
- Participate in safe job-planning, team meetings, and inspections
- Ensure all work is undertaken with safety as the first priority in the provision of a work environment where no injury is considered acceptable, and all activities are undertaken without compromising health and safety
- Ability to work standby, overtime, and call-out availability as required
