Based in Footscray, you’ll work closely with the Production and Engineering teams to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations at a leading laundry provider specialising in linen and work wear.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, breakdown support, and practical problem‑solving on the tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Start‑up and shut‑down of plant equipment, including boilers
- Maintain and service laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironers, conveyors)
- Preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime
- Respond to daily breakdowns and emergency repairs
- Complete planned maintenance using the spindle system
- Work with steam, gas, and reticulated services (water, pneumatics, trade waste)
- Manage spare parts, maintenance records, and documentation
- Read and interpret manuals, drawings, and work orders
- Conduct risk assessments, JSAs, and hazard reporting
- Support WHS and Safe Work Procedures
- Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and team training
- Mechanical and/or Electrical Trade Qualification
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Forklift Licence and Boiler Licence (desirable)
- Strong preventative and corrective maintenance experience
- Experience maintaining industrial or processing equipment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
