Maintenance Fitter (Level 2) – Food Manufacturing
Location: Laverton North

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a fast-paced food manufacturing environment at our Laverton site. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining, repairing and improving plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
About the Role Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing plant equipment in line with trade practices. You will play a key role in ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant equipment
  • Diagnose faults and repair mechanical systems efficiently
  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Conduct safety checks in line with maintenance schedules
  • Support continuous improvement and equipment upgrades
  • Participate in on-call roster for breakdown support
  • Work closely with production, QA and maintenance teams
About You
  • Mechanical trade qualification (essential)
  • Experience in manufacturing or food processing environments
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
  • Good communication skills and team focus
  • Commitment to safety, quality and compliance
Desirable Skills
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and boilers
  • Forklift, EWP or confined space tickets
