About the Role An exciting contract opportunity is available for an experienced Logistics Officer to support a complex sustainment and lifecycle program based in Toowoomba, QLD.
This role is critical to inventory, supply chain, and logistics operations, ensuring effective sustainment, configuration management, and delivery performance across a technically complex environment. You will work closely with end users, field service representatives, and program stakeholders to support ongoing operations and lifecycle activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inventory planning, stock levels, and supply activities to support operational requirements
- Apply logistics policies and procedures to ensure compliant and effective supply support
- Assist with item identification, tracking, and codification to maintain accurate inventory records
- Prepare, analyse, and maintain logistics, procurement, and performance reports
- Support procurement and spare parts decisions to maintain a cost‑effective and sustainable inventory
- Assist with supply network coordination, including stock redistribution where required
- Provide logistics support to end users, including receipting, dispatch, freight, repairs, swaps, and fault tracking
- Support asset lifecycle activities including maintenance, serviceability, disposal, and configuration changes
- Assist with hardware and software configuration management, auditing, and version tracking
- Liaise with service providers and stakeholders on delivery, maintenance, testing, and disposal activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in line with records management requirements
- Perform other logistics and sustainment duties as required
- Strong background in inventory management and supply chain logistics
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in procurement and/or supply chain management
- One of the following:
- Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, or
- At least 5 years’ experience in a relevant logistics or supply chain role, or
- 4 years of specialised logistics experience in a complex operational environment (accepted in lieu of a degree)
- Strong computing skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, and database reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Ability to work under broad direction and take ownership of deliverables
- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage priorities in a flexible delivery environment
- Experience working in high‑performing project or sustainment teams
- Exposure to complex technical or electronic systems environments
- Experience supporting configuration management and lifecycle activities
- AGSVA NV1 clearance essential (must be eligible to uplift to NV2 on contract commencement)
- This role may require access to US export‑controlled materiel. Applicants will be required to disclose any dual citizenship. Appointment will be subject to approval under relevant export control legislation.
- Applicants must not have been employed full‑time as an APS employee or uniformed service member within the last 12 months prior to contract commencement.
