About the role
This is a hands‑on leadership role combining team supervision with active involvement in daily farm operations. You will work closely with the Farm Manager to ensure production, safety, and animal welfare standards are consistently achieved.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting a team while maintaining effective working relationships
- Actively overseeing daily broiler farm operations and supporting the Farm Manager to achieve KPIs
- Allocating tasks based on production requirements
- Monitoring work quality and ensuring targets are met
- Identifying performance or behavioural issues and escalating as required
- Developing and maintaining workplace systems and procedures
- Training team members and completing required documentation
- Participating in safety audits and supporting safety initiatives
- Managing team priorities to ensure efficient workflow
- Maintaining high safety and animal welfare standards
- Communicating regularly with the team and Farm Manager
About you
You will be a proactive, hands‑on leader with strong communication skills and a commitment to quality and animal welfare. You will bring:
- Experience on a commercial poultry farm, including team leadership or supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A sound understanding of animal welfare and production standards
- The ability to work independently and support daily operations
- A calm, professional approach when managing issues
- Strong reliability, time‑management skills, and a positive attitude
- The physical capability to perform hands‑on farm duties
Essential Requirements:
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
- A reliable work history with strong attendance
- A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
