A major Western Australian government agency is seeking motivated finance professionals to join its Financial Accounting team. Opportunities are available at Level 4, Level 6 and Level 7, ideal for applicants with public sector finance experience looking to grow their career. This is a 6 month opportunity with a possiblity to extend.
Principal Financial Accountant (Level 7)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead statutory reporting and consolidated financial statement preparation
- Coordinate internal and external audit responses
- Prepare whole‑of‑government financial submissions
- Develop annual financial estimates and forecasts
- Manage Ministerial and executive financial inquiries
- Supervise and mentor team members
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare notes, working papers and documentation for annual reporting
- Assist with audit responses and issue resolution
- Prepare financial reports for state and Commonwealth agencies
- Complete monthly and quarterly reconciliations
- Support development of financial models and data systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Support general ledger processing, journals and allocations
- Provide advice on GL processes and chart of accounts
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end activities
- Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and coordinate stocktakes
- Reconcile accounts and interface transactions
- Experience in financial accounting or public sector finance
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
