Pay Rate: $55.00 – $57.55 per hour + super

A large, complex education-sector organisation based in Melbourne’s south‑east is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to support a detailed review and overhaul of balance sheet reconciliations.
This contract role will suit a hands‑on finance professional who enjoys working through complex data environments and improving reconciliation and control frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, rationalise and enhance balance sheet reconciliation processes
- Document multiple data sources, interfaces and end‑to‑end data flows
- Analyse complex financial data movements and identify control gaps
- Improve reconciliation consistency, transparency and audit readiness
- Support broader financial accounting and reporting activities as required
- Work closely with stakeholders across Finance and Corporate Services
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting and reporting
- Strong background in balance sheet reconciliations within complex environments
- Proven ability to document and explain complex system and data flows
- High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, contract delivery role
- Experience within TAFE, Higher Education, or broader education/public sector environments will be highly regarded
- Primarily based on‑site at a south‑east Melbourne campus
- Hybrid working available(up to two days per week WFH, subject to approval)
- A Working With Children Check is required
