Start: ASAP
Hours: 38–40 hours/week
Pay rate: $51.52/hr + overtime
Contract end dates: Water role to 26/06/2026 | Wastewater role to 21/08/2026

About The Opportunity
We’re seeking reliable Field Services Operators to support both the metro water network and wastewater field operations. You’ll be working outdoors as part of a hands-on crew, assisting with the inspection, maintenance and repair of critical water and wastewater assets that keep the community’s services running. Depending on operational needs, you may offside on a Water Service Truck and / or complete wastewater field tasks including after-hours response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in safe job planning, toolbox talks, team meetings and workplace inspections
  • Operate, inspect, maintain, monitor and repair water and wastewater assets, operational sites and public facilities
  • Assist with water main / service repairs and general metro network maintenance (including trenching and pipeline inspections)
  • Carry out maintenance tasks using specialised tools, plant and equipment
  • Ensure sites are left safe, tidy and compliant on completion
  • Offside on a service truck when required
  • Participate in overtime, callouts and / or standby rosters as required

What You’ll Need

  • MR / HR driver’s licence
  • Experience in civil works and / or water supply and/ or wastewater systems
  • Ability to work in a wastewater (sewage) environment and follow hygiene controls
  • Availability for after-hours work, overtime and rostered callouts / standby
  • Strong safety focus and willingness to follow procedures and reporting requirements
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • For wastewater tasking: relevant vaccinations, including Hep A & B(required)
  • White Card
