Chandler Macleod is recruiting an experienced Civil Estimator on behalf of a well established construction services business based in Strathfield.
This is a permanent, fully onsite role suited to an Estimator with a strong civil construction background who enjoys being hands on with projects, attending sites and working closely with delivery teams. You will play a key role in producing accurate, compliant and commercially competitive tenders across civil projects.
Estimating and Tender Delivery
- Prepare detailed cost estimates using drawings, specifications and project documentation
- Price civil works including materials, labour, plant and subcontract services
- Distribute documentation to subcontractors and suppliers for pricing
- Analyse quotes for accuracy, scope compliance and cost effectiveness
- Prepare lump sum and schedule of rates tenders
- Provide pricing revisions, scope clarifications and cost saving alternatives
- Ensure all submissions meet WHSEQ and compliance requirements
- Follow up tenders and obtain feedback post submission
- Attend site inspections, pre tender meetings and walks
- Assess access, logistics, plant requirements and site constraints
- Provide clear handover of pricing, assumptions and BOQs to project teams
- Liaise with clients to clarify scope, drawings and specifications
- Negotiate RFIs, final pricing and tender conditions
- Maintain professional relationships to support repeat work and preferred tenderer status
- Proven experience as a Civil Estimator within the Australian market
- Strong understanding of civil works, earthworks, utilities or infrastructure projects
- Ability to interpret civil drawings and technical specifications
- Experience working closely with subcontractors and suppliers
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working onsite and engaging directly with site teams
