About the role
We are actively sourcing an ER Advisor with a minimum of three years’ employee relations experience, and be comfortable with ambiguity and navigating medium size organisations. You will play a vital role in promoting employee engagement, resolving conflicts, and ensuring fair treatment for all members of our team.
Key accountabilities will include
- Providing advice and support on investigations, performance management, disciplinary processes and other complex employee relations matters (including trauma‑informed approaches).
- Advising leaders on employment instruments, Australian employment legislation and ER practices.
- Coaching and uplifting leader capability, including delivery of targeted training where required.
- Supporting litigation and external processes, including preparation of submissions and representation as appropriate.
- Executing elements of the ER Strategy, particularly within the Performance & Conduct stream.
- Applying BHP’s risk management framework and BOS practices in day‑to‑day work.
- Contributing to change management, risk assessment and continuous improvement of ER processes and service delivery.
- Working collaboratively within a broader regional and global Employee Relations team.

- Bachelor in Human Resources and Employment Relations
- Experience across employee relations, performance and conduct matters, and/or strong HR business partnering experience.
- Confidence and credibility in advising and influencing leaders, including navigating difficult conversations.
- Sound judgement with a practical, risk‑aware approach.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience or exposure to Australian employment legislation and practices.
- A coaching mindset, focused on uplifting leader capability and building trust‑based teams.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast‑paced and complex environments.
