We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated Electrician to join a busy food manufacturing environment across our Tanon and Laverton sites. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining, repairing and improving electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
About the Role Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor/Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems in line with relevant standards and the Electricity Safety Act 1998 (Victoria). You will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant equipment
- Fault find and repair complex electrical systems and circuits
- Maintain and service motors, pumps, lighting, cool rooms, HVAC and processing equipment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct safety checks and ensure WHS compliance
- Work collaboratively with production, QA and maintenance teams
- Participate in on-call roster for breakdown support
- Electrical trade qualification (essential)
- Experience in manufacturing or food processing (highly regarded)
- Strong PLC and instrumentation knowledge
- Proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety, quality and compliance
- Experience with control systems and instrumentation
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Forklift, EWP or confined space tickets
