Broadmeadows & Docklands | Contract to 31 July | $48-$53 per hour + super
We are seeking an experienced Student Access & Inclusion Advisor to support the delivery of disability and access services across both Broadmeadows and Docklands locations.
This role plays a critical part in supporting students with diverse access needs to access and succeed in their education.
About the role
This is a hands-on role combining disability support, case management and stakeholder engagement.
You will work directly with students, educators and external partners to design and implement reasonable adjustments, coordinate supports and ensure a consistent, inclusive approach to learning access.
Key responsibilities
Student assessment & access planning
- Conduct student needs assessments across a range of access requirements
- Develop, implement and review Learning Access Plans (LAPs) and reasonable adjustments
- Apply functional assessment approaches to determine appropriate supports
- Support the implementation of assistive technologies and adaptive strategies
- Provide case management for students with complex or multi-layered needs
- Coordinate in-class support services including interpreters, notetakers and accessibility support staff
- Liaise with external providers including NDIS and community services
- Support students navigating multiple services to ensure continuity of care
- Work closely with teaching staff to advise on educational impacts and adjustments
- Provide guidance on inclusive practices and accessibility strategies
- Collaborate with wellbeing teams and broader student services
- Engage with external stakeholders including families, carers and community agencies
- Maintain accurate student records and case notes within CMS
- Ensure delivery aligns with relevant legislation including the Disability Standards for Education, Disability Discrimination Act and Child Safe Standards
- Monitor engagement and identify risks or escalation points where required
- Deliver services using a student-centred, trauma-informed and culturally safe approach
- Support inclusive participation for students from diverse backgrounds and communities
You are a confident and adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced, student-facing environment.
You bring:
- Experience in disability support, case management or access and equity services
- Strong understanding of student support frameworks and inclusive practice
- Ability to assess needs and implement practical, effective adjustments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong organisational skills
- Experience in education (VET/TAFE preferred) or community services
- Experience supporting students with complex needs, including mental health and neurodivergence
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and accessibility supports
