Location: Officer, VIC
Rate:$55–$60 per hour + super
Contract: Short‑term contract until 30 June
We’re seeking an experienced Development / Civil Engineer to support a local government team on a short‑term contract based in Officer.
This role focuses on engineering assessment and approvals for new developments, with a strong emphasis on traffic and drainage.
It’s a practical role reviewing plans, applying standards, and working with developers and consultants.
What you’ll be doing
- Assess and approve engineering construction plans linked to development applications
- Provide technical advice on traffic and drainage matters
- Review plans to ensure new development does not compromise existing infrastructure
- Liaise with developers, consultants, service authorities and internal stakeholders
- Undertake basic engineering investigations, particularly drainage‑related
- Respond to technical enquiries and prepare clear written advice
- Degree in Civil / Development Engineering
- Experience assessing development applications in a council or similar environment
- Strong understanding of traffic and drainage requirements
- Ability to read and assess engineering drawings and plans
- Confident communication skills and stakeholder engagement
- Current Driver’s Licence
