An opportunity is available for an experienced Design Project Manager to support a council‑delivered capital works program in Noosa on a short‑term contract.
This role is client‑side and design‑focused, providing leadership through planning, design coordination, stakeholder management and governance processes to ensure projects are successfully progressed through to construction readiness.

Contract Details:
  • Contract period: 4 May – 31 July
  • Rate:$69.24 per hour + Super
  • Hours: 38 hours per week
  • Location: Noosa, QLD

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage council capital works projects through the planning and design phases
  • Coordinate and oversee external design consultants
  • Review design documentation to ensure compliance with scope, standards and policies
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, external agencies and service authorities
  • Support procurement activities including design tender documentation and evaluations
  • Monitor budgets, schedules and risks during the design phase
  • Prepare reports and briefings for internal governance and decision‑making
  • Contribute to stakeholder and community engagement processes as required

About You:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline
  • Strong experience in client‑side project or design management, ideally within local or state government
  • Sound understanding of civil infrastructure design (roads, drainage, public infrastructure)
  • Proven ability to manage consultants, budgets and programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate confidently in a governance‑driven, stakeholder‑focused environment
  • RPEQ highly regarded but not essential
