This role plays a critical governance and advisory function, ensuring contracts are effectively managed to deliver value for money, manage risk, and achieve service outcomes. You will act as a subject matter expert, mentor operational contract managers, and drive continuous improvement in contract performance frameworks, systems and reporting.

About the role
Reporting to a senior procurement leader, you will:
  • Provide expert advice on contract management policy, procedures and best practice
  • Lead the ongoing development and implementation of a contract management framework, including guidelines, templates and training
  • Oversee contract management reviews and prepare high-quality performance and compliance reporting for senior stakeholders
  • Maintain and optimise the contract management system to support strong governance and data-driven decision-making
  • Mentor and coach contract managers across the organisation to lift capability and consistency
  • Manage and develop a small team, promoting high performance and professional growth
  • Support complex issue resolution, negotiations and formal dispute processes in collaboration with legal and procurement stakeholders
  • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging contract governance practices
Key challenges
  • Managing risk, compliance and performance across a broad and diverse contract portfolio
  • Balancing multiple, time-sensitive priorities in a complex stakeholder environment
  • Influencing and supporting teams with varying levels of contract management maturity
About you
You will bring:
  • Extensive experience in contract management, procurement governance or a related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of contract performance frameworks, continuous improvement and risk management
  • Proven ability to engage, influence and advise senior stakeholders across multiple functions
  • Experience mentoring, coaching or leading others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional report writing
  • Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
  • Experience developing and delivering training or capability uplift initiatives
