Rio Tinto is supporting the safe transition and closure of Gove Pacific Operations by 2030, alongside ongoing infrastructure needs. The Infrastructure Operations Team manages critical assets like the WWNP, bore fields, and pipelines. The Supervisor Construction plays a key role in supervising construction activities, ensuring safety, compliance, and seamless integration with live operations during this transition.
About the role
Responsible for full project delivery - scoping, planning, and executing construction work safely, on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. Ensures construction activities support operational integrity, asset protection, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise construction, shutdowns, and projects
- Develop detailed scopes, manage changes, control costs and schedules
- Coordinate with operational teams and contractors
- Ensure safety, compliance, and quality standards
- Support planning, isolations, and leave coverage
- Maintain documentation and report progress
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Proven construction supervision experience, ideally in utilities or infrastructure
- Strong leadership, safety knowledge, and communication skills
- Ability to coordinate in live operational environments
- Knowledge of drawings, specs, and project controls
- Problem-solving mindset
- Experience in transition/decommissioning sites
- Knowledge of environmental standards and project management tools
Preferred Education & Experience
- Trade background, diploma, or degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related fields
- Proven experience supervising infrastructure projects
- Certifications in safety, First Aid, Confined Space
