This is a hands-on leadership role focused on technical advisory, compliance, and contractor management, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical utilities infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice and troubleshooting across Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation systems, including PLC & SCADA
- Lead and support resolution of hydrocarbons, water & wastewater issues across site
- Coordinate and close out audit actions (AS1940, CRA, DOH, DMIRS, SMM, Water Catchment)
- Support DG licensing & 5-year audits, including inspections of fuel systems and infrastructure
- Ensure compliance across backflow prevention, tank inspections, and metering systems
- Oversee condition monitoring programs for water and fuel assets (including API653 standards)
- Provide input across project lifecycles and manage on-site consultants
- Support capital planning, asset health reporting & operational readiness
- Monitor and optimise water & wastewater treatment systems (WWTPs, Bio Max, sewage systems)
- Manage fuel quality, bulk storage, lube systems & oily water separators
- Ensure compliance of thermal & pressure relief systems
- Maintain compliance reporting and water outage databases
- Lead contractor management, mobilisation, and performance oversight
- Proven experience in Hydrocarbons, Water & Wastewater systems within mining or heavy industry
- Demonstrated leadership experience in contractor or HSE environments
- Strong knowledge of contractor management frameworks, systems & compliance standards
- Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical, with exposure to water treatment systems
- Experience with PLC, Instrumentation, and SCADA systems (highly regarded)
- Ability to lead, mentor and develop teams and contractors
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability in operational environments
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence (Manual)
