About the role
Join a dedicated civil construction team as a Civil Construction Attendant, where you’ll help deliver high‑quality infrastructure projects for both internal and commercial clients. You’ll work outdoors in a supportive crew environment, contributing to the construction of roads, drainage, water and sewer systems, and concrete structures. This casual position provides around 35 hours per week, with work scheduled Monday to Friday between 6:00am and 6:00pm (roster agreed with manager beforehand).
Duties
• Assist in the construction of civil infrastructure, including road pavements, stormwater systems, sewer and water mains, and concrete structures.
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and levels to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Operate a range of construction tools and equipment such as power tools, rollers, skid steers, tampers, and vibrators.
• Set up and maintain safe work zones, including implementing traffic control plans and ensuring general site cleanliness.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and support to other team members as required.
Skills and Experience
• Experience in civil construction, such as stormwater, potable water, sewer reticulation, reinforced concrete, earthworks, or road pavements.
• Certificate III in Civil Construction (or willingness to complete).
• Current Class C Driver Licence (with willingness to obtain MR).
• White Card.
• Ability to read plans, follow instructions, operate tools/equipment, and maintain attention to detail.
• Desirable qualifications may include Traffic Control certification, Powerlines awareness, Concrete QA Grey Card, or experience as a Safety Observer/Spotter.
