Business Development Manager – 3PL Logistics (Victoria & National)
Uncapped Commission | Flexible Working | High-Autonomy Role

We’re looking for a true hunter. Someone who can step in, pick things up quickly, and start generating revenue without needing a long runway.

This is a pure new business role with a primary focus on Victoria, while also capitalising on opportunities across the broader Australian market as they arise. You’ll run your own territory, build your own pipeline, and be backed by a capable operational team that can deliver what you sell.

If you already have strong relationships across Melbourne’s supply chain and logistics space and know how to convert those into commercial outcomes, this role is set up for you to make an immediate impact.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for driving new business growth across key sectors including e-commerce, retail, FMCG, healthcare, and manufacturing. This is an end-to-end sales role where you’ll own everything from first conversation through to signed deal and handover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a targeted Victorian sales plan while identifying and pursuing national opportunities where relevant
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline through proactive networking, referrals, and direct outreach
  • Leverage existing industry relationships to accelerate opportunity generation and conversion
  • Lead the full sales cycle end-to-end, from initial engagement through to proposal and close
  • Create compelling, commercially competitive proposals tailored to client needs
  • Identify and pursue opportunities across key sectors including e-commerce, retail, FMCG, healthcare, and manufacturing
  • Position value-added 3PL services as a clear differentiator in all client conversations
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing dynamics to inform sales strategy
  • Provide regular pipeline reporting, forecasting, and win/loss analysis
  • Collaborate closely with operations, customer service, and finance to ensure accurate solution design and pricing
  • Deliver clean, structured handovers to operations to support seamless onboarding
  • Identify growth opportunities within new clients (e.g. transport, reverse logistics, value-added services)
  • Contribute market insights and feedback to support continuous improvement of the service offering
  • Maintain strong CRM discipline and accurate sales activity tracking
  • Champion health and safety standards when on site, with clients, or travelling
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role is measured on outcomes. You’ll be accountable for new customer wins, revenue and margin performance, pipeline strength, and overall contribution to market share growth, both within Victoria and nationally where applicable. Strong client onboarding and quality of handover will also be key.

What You’ll Bring
You’ve got 3–5+ years of experience in a Business Development role within 3PL, logistics, freight, or the broader supply chain space, with a strong track record of winning new business.

You bring an established network of supply chain and logistics decision-makers and know how to turn those relationships into revenue. You’re confident selling consultatively, building tailored solutions, and negotiating commercially sound deals.

You’re a self-starter who’s comfortable working autonomously, takes ownership of your number, and doesn’t rely on inbound leads. You’re commercially sharp, data-aware, and disciplined when it comes to pipeline management and forecasting.

Importantly, you have a clear, structured approach to sales. As part of the process, you’ll be expected to articulate your three-stage sales methodology and demonstrate how you move opportunities from initial engagement through to close.

What’s on Offer
  • Uncapped commission with strong earning potential
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • High level of autonomy to run your territory
  • Support from a capable operations and delivery team
  • Opportunity to grow both a Victorian and national client base
