Temporary Contract | Facilities / Building Services
An opportunity is available for an experienced Building Condition & Programming Officer to join a large public-sector organisation on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong building inspection skills and experience identifying, reporting, and prioritising maintenance requirements across a diverse building portfolio.
About the Role
Reporting into a facilities and building services team, this position focuses on undertaking building inspections, assessing asset condition, and supporting the planning and delivery of maintenance and minor capital works. While predominantly office-based, the role involves regular travel to operational sites using fleet vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake routine and programmed building inspections
- Visually assess buildings, plant, and equipment to identify defects and maintenance needs
- Prepare condition reports and recommendations for remedial works or further specialist investigation
- Support planned and reactive maintenance programs
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors, and consultants
- Assist with scoping works, monitoring contractors, and maintaining accurate records
- Ensure works comply with relevant safety, legislative, and regulatory requirements
- Experience conducting building condition inspections or audits
- Background in facilities management, building services, asset management, or a related environment
- Ability to identify and clearly report building defects and maintenance priorities
- Strong written communication and reporting skills
- Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Current Victorian driver’s licence
Contract Details
- Type: Temporary contract
- Hours: Full-time (38 hours per week)
- Location: South-East Melbourne (site-based and office-based)
- Start Date: Early April 2026 (approx.)
- Pay Rate: $51–$60 per hour + super
