A business operating within the professional services sector is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their Sydney CBD finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early career accountant who enjoys hands on work and wants to develop their technical capability through mentoring and real commercial exposure.
This role is well suited to someone with an accounting degree who has started their career in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll or a junior accounting position, and is looking to build broader accounting and reporting experience.
Key Responsibilities
- High volume processing of vendor invoices and expense claims
- Accounts payable support and reconciliations
- Balance sheet reconciliations and journals
- Basic reporting, analysis and pipeline reporting
- Assisting with month end processes
- Working with the manager to improve processes and reduce manual work
- Supporting automation and reporting improvements over time
- Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance
- Australian commercial experience required
- Strong understanding of core accounting concepts
- Experience in AP, AR, Payroll or junior accounting roles
- Confident with Excel and data handling
- Willing to be hands on with transactional tasks
- Motivated to learn, develop and grow in the role
- CPA or CA study is welcome but not essential
