Our client is seeking a Structural Project Lead
to join their Perth office. This role is ideal for an experienced structural engineer who excels in leading teams, managing clients, and driving project delivery from concept to completion—while maintaining strong technical oversight.
You’ll be working across complex, large‑scale structural projects and collaborating closely with developers, builders, architects and internal engineering teams.
The Opportunity
This is primarily a leadership and delivery role, best suited to someone who enjoys running projects end‑to‑end, coordinating people and resources, and being the key point of contact for clients. Strong technical design experience is required, but the focus is on project leadership, team guidance, and commercial delivery.
What You’ll Do
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead structural projects from concept through to construction
- Manage programs, deliverables, deadlines and commercial outcomes
- Allocate team resources and maintain visibility across workloads
- Track progress, risks and project performance
- Oversee QA/QC and ensure technical accuracy in all outputs
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects and builders
- Run and lead project meetings
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships
- Manage expectations, variations and commercial discussions
- Lead, mentor and guide design engineers and drafters
- Provide technical direction and conduct design reviews
- Approve engineering work before external issue
- Drive accountability, collaboration and performance within the team
- Maintain high‑level involvement in structural design
- Review analyses, calculations and design decisions
- Ensure solutions are buildable, efficient and practical
- Contribute to value engineering and innovation
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
- 8+ years’ experience in structural engineering consultancy
- Demonstrated experience managing clients and leading projects
- Strong reinforced concrete and steel design skills
- Experience delivering projects through design to construction
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities
- Strong prioritisation and organisational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines, resources and multiple projects
- Commercial awareness and a delivery‑focused mindset
- Experience with high‑rise or complex buildings
- Chartered / CPEng (or in progress)
- Experience leading or managing teams
