for a permanent role based in North Sydney. About the Role
As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in planning, designing, and delivering structural engineering projects of varying complexity. You’ll work closely with senior engineers, drafters, and external stakeholders to develop effective solutions that meet client requirements while ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and engineering best practice. This role suits someone who is proactive, detail‑oriented, and eager to contribute to meaningful projects within a collaborative and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structural engineering designs, documentation, specifications, reports, and proposals.
- Apply engineering principles to solve complex design challenges.
- Liaise with architects, builders, services engineers, and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to project planning and ensure delivery within timeframes and budgets.
- Support and review work produced by junior engineers when required.
- Coordinate effectively with drafters to produce project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Codes, WHS practices, and Quality Assurance policies.
- Participate in resource planning for small projects or sections of larger projects.
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Structural/Civil).
- Minimum 1 year of engineering experience (structural experience highly regarded).
- Understanding of BCA and relevant Australian Standards.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Member of Engineers Australia.
- Working towards CPEng (depending on experience).
