Senior Project Officer – Emergency Relief & Support (6‑Month Contract)
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Senior Project Officer
to strengthen the Emergency Relief and Support (ERS) directorate’s data, reporting and governance capabilities ahead of the high‑threat season. This is a 6‑month temporary opportunity
ideal for someone with strong project, data and governance expertise who thrives in a fast‑paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance & Reporting
- Develop a tailored ERS Information Management Framework based on the WA IM Framework.
- Collaborate with the Data Office to build ERS reporting tools, dashboards and self‑service analytics for emergency operations.
- Coordinate financial and performance reporting, monitor expenditure, and support finance reform initiatives.
- Document data definitions, processes and quality controls to ensure consistent reporting.
- Create and embed Knowledge and Information Management documents, including Directorate Instructions, Quick Reference Guides and operational guidance.
- Maintain governance registers (decisions, actions) and ensure alignment with public sector standards.
- Coordinate project tasks, risks, schedules and progress reporting to support ERS preparedness.
- Prepare briefings and provide advice to ERS leaders on project risks, dependencies and outcomes.
- Work collaboratively across ERS and Communities operational areas.
- Build strong relationships with the Data Office, Finance, People & Culture and operational teams.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to confirm requirements and support capability uplift.
- Communicate clearly to support adoption of new systems and processes.
You will bring:
- Proven project management experience with results delivered within defined timeframes.
- Strong research, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience in developing reporting tools, data processes or governance documentation.
- High‑level written communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience developing policy, frameworks or operational instructions.
- Knowledge of data governance and business intelligence practices.
- Understanding of public sector finance and award‑based allowances.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
