About the Organisation
An established local government authority is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to deliver complex capital works projects and support organisational project management capability. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high‑value community infrastructure and lead multidisciplinary teams within a collaborative environment.

About the Role
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of significant capital projects, oversight of programs, and leadership within the Project Management Office. Working across planning, design, consultation and construction, this role plays a critical part in uplifting project governance and ensuring best-practice delivery outcomes.

Start: 13 April 2026
End: 19 June 2026

Key Responsibilities Project Delivery
  • Lead the development and delivery of large, complex capital works projects from initiation to completion.
  • Manage contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
  • Prepare project briefs, estimates, schedules, risk assessments and reports.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure delivery on time, within scope and budget.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and safety requirements.
Leadership
  • Supervise and mentor Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
  • Promote best‑practice project management methodologies across the organisation.
  • Support capability building and continuous improvement within the PMO.
Stakeholder & Communication
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collaboration to resolve complex design and delivery challenges.
  • Support corporate communications with accurate project information and updates.
Governance & Reporting
  • Identify, manage and mitigate project risks.
  • Provide high‑quality reporting to senior executives and governance committees.
  • Contribute to policy development and improvements to project frameworks.
Skills & Experience Essential
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Business, Project Management or related field.
  • Extensive experience managing complex capital works projects (local government experience advantageous).
  • Accreditation in PM methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2).
  • Strong leadership and team management capability.
  • Advanced project and contract management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project (or equivalent).
Knowledge
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, governance frameworks and OHS requirements.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget development and management.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid right to work in Australia.
  • National Police Check (arranged at commencement).
  • Completion of a Health Declaration (low physical‑risk role).
