Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer – CAPEX and Major Maintenance Projects to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of civil, marine and mechanical infrastructure works across their Inner Harbour. This role is offered on a 6 month temporary basis.
This role delivers both CAPEX and OPEX sustaining projects, covering the full project lifecycle from initiation through to completion and handover. Working across civil, marine and mechanical disciplines, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing critical port infrastructure.
This position is ideal for someone who has started their career in a trade or engineering discipline and progressed into senior project engineering or project management roles, bringing strong constructability and practical problem‑solving expertise.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of a broad range of port infrastructure projects, including:
  • Managing and coordinating planning, estimation, design and execution of port infrastructure projects
  • Delivery of civil and marine civil works, including utilities and site infrastructure
  • Reviewing and assessing technical documentation, drawings and method statements
  • Resolving design, construction and constructability issues with practical, innovative solutions
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, specifications, safety and environmental obligations
  • Supporting development of scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules and procurement packages
  • Providing technical support through study, construction, commissioning and handover phases
  • Contributing to effective project controls, including scheduling and cost control
 
About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong mix of technical capability, project delivery experience and stakeholder engagement skills. You will have:
  • Qualifications in Project Management
  • An Engineering degree or relevant trade qualification (e.g. Boilermaker, Welder, Fabricator), with demonstrated progression into project engineering roles
  • 10+ years’ experience in project management or project engineering roles
  • Proven experience in project controls, including scheduling and cost management
  • Strong understanding of civil and/or marine infrastructure construction environments
  • A positive, proactive and solutions‑focused approach to problem solving
  • Well‑developed written, verbal and negotiation skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and MS Project
  • A current ‘C’ or ‘CA’ class driver’s licence
