About the Role
As the Senior Investigation Officer, you will conduct end‑to‑end investigations using recognised investigative methodologies and relevant legislation. You will review evidence, interview stakeholders, analyse information, identify systemic risks and prepare comprehensive reports with clear, professional recommendations.
You will regularly brief senior leaders, provide expert advice and contribute to continuous improvement of investigative policy, practice and capability.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and manage complex investigations involving governance, staff conduct, managerial issues and disciplinary matters.
- Conduct investigations in line with established policies, procedures and legislative frameworks.
- Collect, assess and secure evidence with accuracy, confidentiality and procedural fairness.
- Prepare high‑quality written investigation reports outlining findings, analysis, systemic issues and recommendations.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and timely updates.
- Provide specialist advice and briefings to senior leadership.
- Support organisational capability by contributing to improved investigative processes, policies and tools.
- Extensive experience conducting complex or sensitive investigations, ideally in a regulatory, legal or compliance environment.
- Strong knowledge of investigative practices, evidence handling and administrative decision‑making frameworks.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings clearly and objectively.
- High‑level analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a confidential and sensitive environment.
- High integrity, professionalism and resilience.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (law, investigations or related field) and a valid C‑Class driver licence.
