Senior Finance Officer

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to provide temporary support and maintain core accounting functions during a leadership transition. This role suits an experienced bookkeeper or finance officer confident managing end‑to‑end accounting up to trial balance level.

About the Role
Working three days per week (flexible), you will ensure continuity of day‑to‑day financial operations and support essential reporting. This is a hands‑on role requiring accuracy, independence, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Process transactions and journals up to trial balance
• Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries
• Support month‑end tasks and reconciliations
• Provide financial data to external stakeholders (including DEECA)
• Assist with core accounting tasks during the leadership handover
• Contribute to a smooth transition prior to the new Finance Director commencing

About You

• Experience in bookkeeping or senior finance support roles
• Strong understanding of accounting processes up to trial balance
• Experience with MYOB or similar ERP/finance systems (highly regarded)
• Able to work autonomously and meet deadlines
• Public sector experience welcome but not essential

Role Details

• Start: Week commencing 2 March 2026
• Work Pattern: 3 days per week (flexible)
• On‑site: Tuesdays in the office; flexible WFH on other days
• Duration:~2 months, with possible extension
• Handover: Up to 1 week with outgoing Finance Director
• Checks: Current Police Check (within 6 months)
• Rate: Flexible, based on experience
