Chandler Macleod is proud to partner with a leading Government Agency to recruit an experienced Property Acquisition Specialist  for a 12‑month contract opportunity. This role offers the chance to contribute to high‑impact procurement and acquisition activities within a reputable public sector environment, working alongside a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional outcomes for the community.

The Property Acquisition Specialist will play a crucial role in securing property and land access outcomes that support the successful delivery of renewable infrastructure projects Acting as the key conduit between impacted landholders and the project, the role encompasses accountability for ensuring compliance with legislative process and governance, whilst striving to deliver negotiated outcomes in line with project schedules. This role will collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals, liaise with key stakeholders including landowners, and provide expert guidance and support to our clients.

This role can be based  anywhere in NSW, with a preference for regional locations.  Regular travel to project sites and offices in the Dubbo region is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end‑to‑end property acquisition matters associated with government project programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned landholders and oversee associated transactions.
  • Lead negotiations in line with relevant legislation
  • Represent the program in meetings, site visits, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Ensure all property transactions adhere to legislative, organisational, and project‑specific approval pathways.
  • Provide authoritative advice to support negotiation outcomes.
  • Review and contribute to compensation assessments, adjustment plans, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of all engagement and consultation activities.
  • Coordinate closely with stakeholder engagement teams to ensure aligned and transparent communication with landholders.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience delivering property acquisition projects
  • Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Knowledge of compulsory acquisition, negotiated property transactions, leases, licences, permits, and easements.
  • Strong capability in engaging with landowners, community members, government agencies, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of land acquisition legislation, or willingness to develop this capability.
  • Ability to build and influence productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
