Full-time hours | $70 p/h + super
3‑month contract | Based in Dandenong
38 hours per week | Mon–Fri

About the Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager
to deliver a portfolio of City Improvement projects across building, civil, open space and major project streams. You’ll lead end‑to‑end project delivery, managing scope, budgets, contractors, risks and timelines to achieve high‑quality community outcomes.
This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in construction and building projects, excellent stakeholder management skills, and confidence working in a complex local government environment.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver building and infrastructure projects from concept through to final handover
- Manage design, permits, procurement, construction, commissioning and defects periods
- Establish project scopes, briefs, timelines, budgets and risk management plans
- Monitor expenditure, progress, reporting and KPIs
- Ensure safety, quality and environmental requirements are met at all stages
- Consult with internal stakeholders, asset managers, contractors and community groups
- Prepare feasibility studies, budget bids and funding documentation
- Identify issues early and drive timely resolutions
- Support tender processes: specifications, evaluations and recommendations
- Manage contract performance, variations, OH&S requirements and close‑out documentation
- Provide professional project advice to senior leadership
- Promote best‑practice asset management across major council assets
- Maintain high‑quality customer service and clear stakeholder communication
- Tertiary qualification in Project Management(or equivalent) with significant related experience
- Proven track record delivering commercial/community building projects end‑to‑end
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques, legislation, codes and safety standards
- Understanding of community consultation processes
- Highly effective time management and ability to deliver under competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Proficient in MS Office and project documentation
- Professional, ethical, proactive and solutions‑focused approach
