A 6‑month contract opportunity is available for an experienced Electrical Project Lead to oversee brownfield upgrade works at a large operational power‑generation site in Central Queensland.


Role Responsibilities:
The position oversees the execution phase of electrical capital projects within a live power‑station environment.


Core responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and supervising on‑site contractors during construction, installation, and commissioning
  • Managing day‑to‑day site activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery
  • Maintaining project scope, schedule, cost control, and quality standards through execution
  • Preparing and updating project plans, schedules, and progress reports
  • Identifying and managing risks, issues, and change throughout delivery
  • Working closely with operations, HSE, and engineering teams to align work with site procedures and operational requirements
  • Supporting commissioning, testing, and seamless handover to site operations

Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this environment, the role requires:

Essential:

  • Electrical Engineering degree or substantial electrical construction/project delivery experience
  • Demonstrated experience delivering electrical projects in heavy industry or power‑generation settings
  • Proven capability supervising contractors and overseeing construction activities on a live operational site
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety requirements, permit‑to‑work systems, isolations, and safe work procedures
  • Capacity to be based on site in Biloela for extended periods during project execution
  • Ability to manage project delivery requirements including schedule, budget, risk, and reporting


Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Australian power‑station environments (experience with brownfield electrical upgrades is advantageous)
  • Knowledge of project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6
  • Previous involvement in works such as switchboard upgrades, protection systems, DC systems, or similar electrical plant modifications


Contract Details:

Term: 6‑month contract
Extensions: High likelihood of multi‑year continuation
Location: Biloela, QLD (site based)
FIFO: Available from Brisbane for suitable candidates
