ASAP start – 26 June 2026
We are seeking a Planning Compliance Officer to join a busy team on a short-term contract, supporting compliance and enforcement activities within a local government environment.
Reporting to the Senior Planning Compliance Officer, this role will focus on investigating planning matters, supporting enforcement activities, and liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in investigating and resolving planning scheme breaches
- Support enforcement of planning legislation and regulations
- Respond to customer requests and provide advice on compliance matters
- Liaise with internal teams, external authorities, and the public
- Assist in preparing documentation for VCAT and Magistrates Court matters
- Maintain accurate records, evidence, and reports
- Relevant qualification in Town Planning, Environmental Management, or similar (or equivalent experience)
- Understanding of planning legislation and compliance processes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive situations
- Ability to resolve issues through negotiation and a solutions-focused approach
- Experience preparing reports and formal correspondence
- Confident using Microsoft Office and systems
- Working with Children Check
- Police Check
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Dandenong location
- $47 per hour + super
- Immediate start
- Contract through to 26 June
