Our client is looking for an organised, detail‑driven Payroll Officer to join their People & Performance team. In this role, you’ll help deliver accurate, timely and customer‑focused payroll services that directly support our workforce and contribute to a well‑functioning organisation.

About the Role
As our Payroll Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of end‑to‑end payroll services in line with legislative requirements, industrial instruments, organisational policies and statutory obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  • End‑to‑end payroll processing, including timesheets, adjustments, higher duties, back pay and exception reporting
  • Process and verify timesheets with a high level of accuracy
  • Manage employee leave, entitlements and leave without pay situations
  • Liaise with Risk Management to process workers’ compensation payments
  • Maintain and update employee master file data, including pay rates, allowances, deductions and bank details
  • Prepare payroll correspondence, such as statements of earnings and employment verifications
  • Maintain personnel records and ensure accurate documentation
  • Support employees with payroll enquiries in a professional, customer‑focused manner
  • Ensure all work aligns with industrial awards, legislative requirements and internal policies
What We’re Looking For
Essential
  • Demonstrated end‑to‑end payroll experience
  • Experience using payroll systems, document management platforms and Microsoft Office
  • Strong ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Good understanding of general accounting principles
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail
Desirable
  • Experience with SAP HR or SAP CATS
  • Completion or enrolment in a payroll qualification
  • Familiarity with HR or payroll operations in a medium to large organisation
