About the Role
As our Payroll Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of end‑to‑end payroll services in line with legislative requirements, industrial instruments, organisational policies and statutory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- End‑to‑end payroll processing, including timesheets, adjustments, higher duties, back pay and exception reporting
- Process and verify timesheets with a high level of accuracy
- Manage employee leave, entitlements and leave without pay situations
- Liaise with Risk Management to process workers’ compensation payments
- Maintain and update employee master file data, including pay rates, allowances, deductions and bank details
- Prepare payroll correspondence, such as statements of earnings and employment verifications
- Maintain personnel records and ensure accurate documentation
- Support employees with payroll enquiries in a professional, customer‑focused manner
- Ensure all work aligns with industrial awards, legislative requirements and internal policies
Essential
- Demonstrated end‑to‑end payroll experience
- Experience using payroll systems, document management platforms and Microsoft Office
- Strong ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
- Good understanding of general accounting principles
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail
- Experience with SAP HR or SAP CATS
- Completion or enrolment in a payroll qualification
- Familiarity with HR or payroll operations in a medium to large organisation
