Full‑Time | Permanent | On‑Site | $80,000–$95,000 + Super

We’re recruiting an experienced Payroll Officer to manage end‑to‑end payroll for a well‑established construction group with approximately 350 employees across six entities in VIC and NSW. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership, structure, and being part of a close‑knit on‑site team.

This is a 100% on‑site role

About the Role
Reporting into the Finance/HR function, you’ll take full responsibility for preparing and processing payroll on a weekly/fortnightly cycle. The bulk of payroll is driven by uploads from time & attendance systems, with 4–10 manual timesheets each cycle requiring careful entry and review.

You’ll ensure the accuracy of employee data across multiple entities, apply EBA conditions, complete standard payroll compliance tasks, and work closely with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • End‑to‑end processing of payroll for approx. 350 employees across multiple entities.
  • Upload and validate time & attendance data; enter 4–10 manual timesheets as required.
  • Apply relevant EBAs, award interpretations, loadings, and overtime rules.
  • Process new starters, terminations, pay adjustments, and variations.
  • Manage leave accruals, superannuation, and all standard payroll compliance activities.
  • Assist with payroll reporting, audits, reconciliations, and month‑end requirements.
  • Liaise with employees to resolve payroll queries professionally and promptly.
  • Work with external consultants for workers compensation and EBA advice (prior experience beneficial but not essential — training provided).
  • Maintain accurate employee records across Wage Easy.

About You
  • Minimum 5 years’ payroll experience in a similar environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills — confident speaking with employees, managers, and external partners.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail and a proactive problem‑solver.
  • Experienced processing payroll for multi‑entity organisations or complex workforces.
  • Familiarity with EBAs, construction industry payroll or time‑sheet‑heavy environments highly regarded.
  • Experience with Wage Easy preferred
  • A stable employment history demonstrating consistent tenure and reliability.

What’s on Offer
  • Salary $80,000–$95,000 + super
  • Stable full‑time permanent role
  • 100% on‑site with a supportive team
  • Well‑structured environment with clear processes
  • Training provided on industry‑specific areas (EBAs/workcover)
