As a Payroll Consultant within their Managed Payroll team, you’ll play a key role in providing accurate, compliant and timely payroll services to a diverse national client base.
About the Role
As a Payroll Consultant, you will be responsible for end‑to‑end payroll processing and ensuring legislative compliance across a portfolio of Federal, State and Corporate customers. You’ll work closely with internal teams and clients to deliver high‑quality payroll outcomes, resolve enquiries, and support continuous improvement in payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities
- End‑to‑end payroll processing including staff movements, allowances, deductions, tax, timesheets and salary changes
- Manage all leave types, service history updates, and superannuation processing
- Support senior payroll consultants with core data entry and complex tasks
- Investigate and resolve Single Touch Payroll (STP) warnings and errors
- Perform manual calculations including leave and superannuation audits
- Reconcile and upload data to/from external agencies (e.g., super clearing houses)
- Process Business Process Automation (BPA) forms where needed
- Provide accurate payroll calculations and quotes for client queries
- Respond to client calls and email enquiries in a timely, professional manner
- Support Payroll Officers in developing payroll knowledge and system skills
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs
- Strong knowledge of payroll principles and legislative requirements
- Experience using HR and payroll systems (Aurion experience highly regarded)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service capability
- Good understanding of payroll integrations
