We are seeking an APS5 Microbiologist to join a Federal Government laboratory team responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of therapeutic goods in Australia.
About the Role
You will work in a modern, well-equipped laboratory conducting microbiological testing on medicines and medical products. Your work will directly contribute to protecting public health by ensuring products meet strict regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological testing and analyse results
- Prepare clear and accurate laboratory reports
- Maintain laboratory records in line with quality standards (ISO/NATA)
- Support development and validation of testing methods
- Review scientific data and assist with regulatory assessments
- Contribute to continuous improvement and team activities
- Degree in Science (Microbiology or related field)
- Experience working in a laboratory environment
- Knowledge of microbiological testing techniques
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Australian Citizenship (essential)
- 12-month contract with potential for extension (up to 24 months)
- Full time hours- Monday to Friday
