Location:
Henderson, WA
A hands‑on shipyard support role, assisting mechanical tradespeople with maintaining and repairing naval vessels and submarines.
Duties:
- Assisting with mechanical maintenance and repairs
- Handling tools, materials, and heavy components
- Assembly and disassembly of mechanical components
- Installing and removing equipment, pipework, valves, and fittings
- Holding, aligning, and positioning parts during fitting or welding
- Basic fabrication tasks (cutting, grinding, drilling, deburring)
- Selecting, cleaning, and setting up hand and power tools
- Preparing work areas inside workshops or confined spaces
- Moving heavy components using lifting equipment
- Preparing materials according to work packages
Essential:
- Australian citizen
- National Police Clearance maximum 3 months old
- Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical
- White Card
- Confined Space i.e. must have 2 years validity at time of commencement and VOC dated within 6 months)
- Forklift License
- Previous relevant experience gained within a heavy engineering environment
- Previous Shipyard or Marine industry experience highly advantageous
