Mechanical Fitter / Trade Assistant

Rio Tinto Yarwun – Gladstone

Chandler Macleod is looking for a Mechanical Fitter or experienced Trades Assistant with fitting experience to join the team at Rio Tinto’s Yarwun Refinery in Gladstone.

Job Details

• Location: Yarwun Refinery – Gladstone
• Roster: Lifestyle roster – 5 days on, 5 off, 4 on, 5 off, 5 on, 4 off
• Shift length: 12 hour shifts
• Pay rate:$37 – $57 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
• Start: Immediate start available

Work Involves

• Fixed plant maintenance
• Pipe fitting and mechanical fitting work
• Assisting trades on maintenance tasks
• Forklift operation
• Working in a high temperature refinery environment

Requirements

• Mechanical Fitter trade qualification OR strong fitting experience as a Trades Assistant
• Forklift ticket preferred
• Rigging or Dogging ticket preferred
• Physically fit and able to work in hot conditions
• Strong focus on safety

Pre-Employment
Successful candidates will need to complete:
• Full medical and physical assessment
• Drug & alcohol test
