We are partnering with our client ERA to engage a Maintenance Planner
who will play a crucial role in supporting the safe and reliable rehabilitation of the Ranger site. This position offers the opportunity to directly influence maintenance readiness, asset reliability and shutdown performance in one of Australia’s most significant rehabilitation projects.
As the Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for developing high quality, practical and fully scoped maintenance plans that support safe execution, predictable performance and reduced unplanned work. You will convert maintenance strategies, inspection findings and approved scopes of work into ready to execute job plans, ensuring all work meets defined plan readiness and quality standards.
Working closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, projects and supply chain teams, you will ensure job plans are achievable, risk aware and aligned with asset and operational priorities. You will also maintain and improve SAP PM data to support effective planning, execution and performance reporting.
Reporting to the Senior Planning team, you will:
- Develop and maintain high quality maintenance job plans aligned with asset strategies and operational requirements
- Ensure planned work meets readiness and quality standards prior to scheduling
- Support short- and medium-term maintenance planning to improve reliability and schedule stability
- Create, update and manage SAP PM work orders, task lists, maintenance plans and associated master data
- Identify materials, services and specialist resource needs early to manage constraints and lead times
- Review maintenance history and asset performance data to improve job plan quality
- Provide planning input into sustaining capital, defect elimination and improvement initiatives
- Embed safety and risk management through clear scopes of work, hazard identification and critical control alignment
- Support safe execution by defining permit requirements, isolation needs and field engagement activities
- Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance planning standards, systems and processes
About you
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner within fixed plant, processing, mining or heavy industrial environments
- Strong working knowledge of SAP PM or a comparable CMMS
- Solid understanding of asset management principles, maintenance strategies and work management processes
- Demonstrated ability to develop clear, executable maintenance job plans
- Strong organisational capability with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across multiple disciplines
- Desirable experience in sustaining capital or improvement projects
- Exposure to reliability centred or risk-based maintenance methods
Client
Energy Resources Australia Ltd operated the Ranger Uranium Mine near the town of Jabiru in the Northern Territory, previously mining and producing uranium oxide for more than 40 years. In January 2021, ERA ceased mining and processing operations and shifted its focus entirely to rehabilitation.
The Ranger Rehabilitation Project aims to restore the Ranger Project Area to a standard similar to the surrounding Kakadu National Park. In 2024, ERA entered into a Management Services Agreement with Rio Tinto, strengthening technical capability and supporting the safe and effective delivery of rehabilitation works. ERA continues to work with all key stakeholders, including the Mirarr People, to complete this important project.
